Tasked with creating and managing an event to launch Apptio into the Australian and New Zealand market, Weber Shandwick proposed a media roundtable luncheon that incorporated a high profile customer and a partner including Apptio’s CEO and founder. The media invited make up a very small pool of enterprise technology media, about 20 in total. The purpose of the event was to fuel media understanding and coverage of the Apptio brand and its unique service offering, in addition to driving understanding of a new category, Technology Business Management.

Weber Shandwick managed all components of the media launch including round table luncheon, discussion points and subsequent widespread media campaign. The lunchtime event saw six key tier one technology media attend in addition to two analysts to listen to Apptio, UXC and Orica address the table. Held at Rockpool Bar & Grill, the private dining room provided the perfect ambience for our business lunch. Our dedicated in-house photographer attended the event to capture the moment.

Coverage has been received from eight media including Australia’s only national broadsheet: The Australian. Two further media interviews was also secured with key technology media with both Apptio’s CEO and one of Apptio’s customers in Australia. Tweets were attracted from key media in attendance, with animage of the event reaching 19,500 people in one hit from one journalist alone.
