VP, Client Experience

Tell me the facts and I’ll learn. Tell me the truth and I’ll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in heart forever.

QUESTION AND ANSWER

How long have you worked at Weber Shandwick?

Since May 2011. I’ve always been based in the Sydney office but have spent time working in our New York, Chicago, Hong Kong and Singapore offices too.

Whats the best thing you’ve ever seen happen inside the Weber Shandwick offices?

One year for our global kick-off meeting, our senior leaders brought together the ‘Weber Shandwick band’, a group of talented comms professionals with some serious music talent on the side, to perform for us. I love that the agency celebrates our interests and passions outside of work.

In Five Words or less, how would you describe your Weber Shandwick colleagues?

Passionate. Smart. Supportive. Genuine. Fun.

Whats the coolest (or weirdest) thing you’ve had to do for a work project?

I got to tour the basement of the National Gallery of Victoria and learn about the restoration of an iconic piece of Australian art as part of a corporate responsibility project.

If you need to get in the zone and focus on a project, what music is playing in your headphone?

Jazz – my years of study were always accompanied by Norah Jones, these days it might be Miles Davis or Chet Baker.

Whats your favourite restaurant in Sydney?

Taqiza in Bondi, for the best Mexican this side of the Pacific.

Where would you love to travel in the world to gain inspiration?

Five years ago I went to SXSW in Austin Texas and I’d love to go back.

If you weren’t working in this industry, what would you want to do?

I’d love to be a professional flautist in an orchestra, especially one that records movie scores. It’s not quite the same but I currently play the flute in a community concert band.

Whats the best piece of career advice you’ve ever gotten?

Having the right questions is more important than having the answers.
