Weber Shandwick has been appointed the official social media agency of record for GSK Consumer Healthcare in Australia, following a competitive pitch.
Weber Shandwick will provide social media strategy and management across the GSK Consumer Healthcare portfolio including Voltaren, Panadol, Children’s Panadol, Sensodyne, Polident and Nicabate.
Richard Bennett, area head of digital, GSK, commented: “We’re focused on advancing the digital experience for our consumers, and a key component of this strategy is engagement with our brands via social media. Weber Shandwick’s creativity, combined with the teams’ healthcare and social marketing expertise, and their globally integrated network, makes them a natural fit to support this priority.”
“We’re delighted at the opportunity to partner with GSK in Australia, across such a highly regarded product portfolio,” said Ian Rumsby, chairman, Weber Shandwick Australia. “As an agency, our ability to deliver smart, creative and integrated solutions in the healthcare space has been a key tenet of our talent investment strategy and it’s particularly exciting to be able to deliver on that promise.”
Since late 2018, Weber Shandwick has grown its healthcare and digital teams with five significant hires, including specialist RX and paid media expert roles. The agency expects to further bolster its strength in these areas in response to accelerated client demand.
